The District is a large open-air mall with many shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.
How large, you ask? The mall comprise a million square feet and crosses several streets.
It is an excellent place for OC residents to get their shopping done or enjoy a night out – or do both on the same day.
You can spend time on the promenade, walking through the unique shops, bowling, exercising at the fitness center, dining at one of the upscale restaurants, or getting a quick bite.
You can also catch the latest blockbuster movie at the AMC 16 theater.
For shopping, you can find big-box retailers, such as Target, TJMaxx/Home Goods, Whole Foods, Lowe's, Michael's, Costco, Ulta Beauty, Vans, and Tillys.
Dining
Whatever you are in the mood for, you can find it at the District. You can grab a bite at popular fast-food chains like In N Out, CHICK-FIL-A, Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. Or you can enjoy an evening of drinks and tasty dishes at a sit-down restaurant like RA Sushi or Prego.
RA Sushi
A delight for the eye and the pallet, RA Sushi is located in the District in Tustin with both indoor and outdoor seating.
On our last visit, we enjoyed several rolls, hand rolls, and sashimi dishes. My favorites were the Viva Las Vegas and the Crunchy Shrimp Tempura rolls.
For dessert, we tried their coconut cream Brulé and the Cinnamon Tempura Ice Cream. Both were delicious.
Prego
Prego sits in a corner inside the Promenade and offers delicious Italian cuisine.
Along with the traditional pasta dishes, you can find unique creations like Australian Lamb Chops or the Braised Short Rib Ravioli.
On a recent visit, we sat on the porch and ordered the Australian Lamb Chops and the Lobster Ravioli. Both were cooked to perfection and tasted great. We also enjoyed peach margaritas.
For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu. It wasn't one of the best we had, but it was an ok end to our meal.
The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar
The Winery Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a meal with a wine pairing or just go out for drinks.
They have a wide selection of wines and mixed drinks, and the serving staff are eager to recommend the right drink for your meal.
During our visit, we ordered the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi, Veggie Ragout, and Garlic-Herb Roasted Chicken. While waiting for this feast, we ordered the Bread & Butter service – which is not complementary, but tasty.
The main course arrived, and it was delicious. I especially enjoyed my Mahi Mahi and the Ragout.
For dessert, we ordered the apple crisp, which wasn't anything special. In hindsight, I should have gone with the server's recommendation of Crème Brulé.
The service was superb, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. We even had visits from the manager to ensure that we were enjoying our visit.
The prices are on the expensive side and the portions were just right—don't expect to have any leftovers.
Union Market
Union Market is a unique take on Food Courts. You can find food stalls, restaurants & boutiques under one roof.
With places like Churned Creamery, Portola Coffee Roasters, Cubed Poke, Roba Noodle, and Stowaway Tiki Bar, you are guaranteed to find something you like.
AMC Theater
This 14-auditorium theater in the district is an AMC upgraded complex with reclining-heated seats. Some auditoriums offer Digital Dolby Cinema for an enhanced experience.
I watched the "Eternals" here when it first came out. I loved the movie and the theater.
The staff are friendly and helpful. I made a mistake when I booked my tickets online, but they were happy to fix it for me.
