KA by Cirque Du Soleil

Cirque Du Soleil - KA - Forest Duet - Photo by Jerry MetellusKA by Cirque Du Soleil is probably the biggest theatrical production in the world with the latest audio/visual technology.
The show is a clever mix of traditional circus acts with modern technology with a storyline. The story is not clearly defined because the actors use an invented language. But that doesn’t take away from the wonderful production and amazing feats performed in a fluid environment.

There is no traditional stage in this theater. Instead, several floating platforms move around the stage in all directions including straight up – allowing total impression into fantastical environments. In one scene I felt like I was immersed in the ocean trying to reach the surface.

Irvine Spectrum

Irvine SpectrumThe Irvine Spectrum is an entertainment and shopping complex in Irvine, considered one of the best places to live in the US.

The center has grown over the years from its humble beginnings in 1995 until the latest expansion in 2020.

It now features stores like Nordstrom, Sephora, Apple, and Target, a Ferris wheel, and a Regal Cinemas 21-screen movie theater.

It also has an eclectic selection of restaurants and snack outlets.

The little ones can enjoy a Merry-go-round, the ferris wheel, and a new children's playground. They also love running through ground fountains and steam areas.

Critter Country

Disneyland - Critter Country - by Ken Lund - WikipediaThe Disney resort is practically in my backyard. My family and I love to spend a whole day or just a few hours at the Disney parks. Throughout the years we learned a lot about the parks and attractions that we like to share with you.

If you continue your stroll along the rivers of America, you will end up at  Critter Country, the home of Splash Mountain and Winnie the Pooh.

Emerald Coast Jet Ski

Dolphin Watch Jet-Ski TourI went on many dolphin watch cruises in the past, but never so thrilling an experience. I have never been on a Jet Ski and was a little apprehensive about trying it, but the folks at Destiny Water Adventures made my first experience easy and pleasant.

We started with instructions on operating the jet ski and some safety rules. We donned our mandatory life jackets, and off we went.

We started from Destiny's location in Fort Walton Beach on the Santa Rosa Sound – which separates Ft Walton from Okaloosa Island. We then headed into Choctawhatchee Bay towards Distin Harbor, then exited into the Gulf of Mexico.

In the clear waters of the gulf, we idled for a while, enjoying Dolphins swimming around us. The dolphins seemed curious about us, playfully jumping, and darting around, but eventually, they got bored and swam away.

Laguna Coast Wilderness Park

Laguna Coast Wilderness - WildflowersWe had driven past this wilderness park many times on our way to Laguna Beach, but it never crossed our minds to visit. On a friend's recommendation, we turned into the Nix Nature Center for a spontaneous adventure. The park's untamed beauty and its vast network of trails were a delightful surprise.

The park covers approximately 7000 acres of hills, canyons, and ridgelines, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. The trails are well-maintained and cater to various levels of hiking proficiency.
