Family Getaway to Las Vegas

Family Getaway

Entertainment Capital of the WorldLas Vegas, often known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World" might not be the first destination that comes to mind when planning a family getaway with kids. However, beyond its dazzling lights and vibrant nightlife, Las Vegas offers a surprising array of family-friendly activities that can turn your visit into an unforgettable adventure for both young and old.

When my kids were younger, we took the plunge and spent a few days exploring the wonders of Las Vegas, and we weren’t disappointed.

La Fortuna, Costa Rica

La_Fortuna_Town,_Arenal_Volcano By Erick Hidalgo WikimediaLa Fortuna, nestled at the base of Arenal Volcano, is where nature's grandeur meets rich cultural experiences. Our time in this enchanting area was filled with adventures, from exploring local agriculture to trekking through volcanic landscapes and unwinding in thermal waters.

Toronto, Canada

Toronto skyline with CN towerToronto is the capital city of Ontario province and considered the largest city in Canada with a population approaching 5.6 million. If you count the whole urban area around Toronto then the population increases to 6.5 million.

What distinguishes Toronto from other major urban centers is its multicultural vibe. Everywhere you go you will come across people from all over the world coexisting in peace and harmony.

Illuminate at the Strat

Illuminate at the Start“Illuminate” exploded on the scene as a finalist on America’s Got Talent and then took the world by a storm.

In Las Vegas, Illuminate plays at the Stratosphere tower with several show times every day. The ticket prices are more reasonable than the big-ticket shows.

The performance uses customized LED suits with wireless lighting programs that create extraordinary lighting effects that move along with the choreographed dance moves and the hurt-pounding music.

We reserved our seats several weeks in advance and landed a premium spot at a VIP booth with an excellent view of the stage.

Santa Monica

Santa Monica Pier - by Matthew Field - WikipediaWhen I think about Santa Monica, I usually remember the boardwalk at the Pier with all the rides and the food vendors. But this beach town has so much more to offer.
Santa Monica is also famous for the long stretches of beach, great parks, an Aquarium, and the Museum of Flying.

The Santa Monica Pier is a large double-jointed pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, California. It contains a small amusement park, concession stands, and areas for viewing and fishing.

Pacific Park is the only amusement park in the west located on a pier. Entry to the park area is free, but you need to buy tickets to enjoy the rides.
