Fountains at Bellagio The Bellagio Hotel has always captured my imagination with its grandeur, and I envisioned that a stay at this iconic property would be truly magical.

Watching the dancing waters show on the expansive man-made lake is a captivating experience. Inside, the Secret Garden, Casino, and shops offer a unique delight for visitors.

Eventually, I decided to book a three-night stay with my family. Our experience was somewhat mixed.

Bellagio Secret Garden Despite the hotel's renowned glamour and elegance, it turned out to be quite ordinary in some respects. The rooms were average, and the service needed significant improvement.

We booked a fountain-view room, hoping for a stunning vista of the dancing waters. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed, as our windows mostly overlooked other sections of the property, with only a partial view of the fountains in the distance.

Traveler Tip: When booking a room at the Bellagio, consider contacting the hotel directly to ensure you secure a room with a prime view of the fountains.

View from Lago, Bellagio The beds and pillows were comfortable, which is essential for a good night's sleep. However, other aspects were merely adequate. The most frustrating part of our stay was the lack of proactive service. Our room was left uncleaned, with overflowing trash cans, requiring us to request housekeeping for the following day.

Outside the rooms, the hotel was impressive, featuring an Olympic-sized pool, multiple jacuzzis, a fitness center, and a spa. The fitness center was well-equipped with modern machines, along with towel and water service. The pool area offered cabanas, umbrellas, and a café.

Interesting Fact: The Bellagio's famous fountain show features over 1,200 nozzles and 4,500 lights, making it one of the most elaborate water displays in the world.

Sadelle's brunch Tower - by Sarah Stierch - Flickr We dined at three restaurants during our stay, each offering excellent but pricey dining experiences. At Lago, we enjoyed a sumptuous Italian meal with a superb view of the fountains. The food was exquisite, and the service was impeccable.

At Yellowtail Japanese restaurant, we sampled several hand rolls and cut rolls, all of which were delicious. Again, we enjoyed a fantastic view of the fountains through the panoramic windows.

Lastly, we had a satisfying brunch at Sadelle’s. With offerings like the Sadelle’s Tower (Fish, Bagel, Tomato, Cucumber & Capers), Eggs Benedict with Salmon, and Thick-cut French Toast with fruit, you won't leave hungry.

Traveler Tip: Dining at Bellagio’s restaurants can be pricey, so consider making reservations in advance and checking for any available dining packages or deals.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable, but I expected more from the Bellagio.
