Having never handled a real firearm before, I was eager to try them out at Battlefield Vegas, a unique shooting experience within easy reach from the Las Vegas Strip.

Battlefield Vegas caught my attention as it offers a chance to handle real guns without the commitment of ownership. It seemed like the perfect opportunity for a novice like me.

I opted for the "Seal Team Six Experience" package for three people. We drove to their off-the-beaten-path location, though they also offer a Hummer pickup service from hotels for those who'd prefer not to drive.

The military ambiance was palpable from the parking lot, with jeeps, hummers, guns, and tanks on display, setting the scene for our adventure.

Entering Battlefield Vegas, we were greeted by a well-stocked shop featuring an array of weapons, ammunition, and souvenirs. We checked in at the back of the store and browsed while waiting for our guide.

Our guide soon outfitted us with safety gear and presented the four firearms we would use. The shooting gallery was impressively spacious, with adjustable targets and much-appreciated air conditioning to escape the Las Vegas heat.

Note: A valid ID is required to participate. The experience is open to anyone aged 10 and up, but minors must be accompanied by a guardian.

We chose the Seal Team Six Experience for its variety of weapons and the team's notable reputation. The package included shooting the Sig P-226, MP5 SD, M4 CQBR, and M-249 SAW, each offering a distinct experience in handling and recoil.

Our guide thoroughly explained each gun's features and demonstrated proper shooting techniques.

While I have no plans to own a gun, the experience at Battlefield Vegas was so compelling that I would return to try other firearms and activities.
