Indiana Jones Adventure

Disneyland - Indian Jones - Temple of the Forbidden EyeInspired by the famous Indiana Jones films, this attraction takes riders on an exhilarating adventure through the cursed Temple of the Forbidden Eye. Guests board a rugged military transport vehicle and race through dark chambers, dodging booby traps and encountering mythical creatures, all guided by the voice of Indiana Jones himself.

The ride is intense, featuring numerous sharp turns, sudden stops, and bumpy motions, akin to a high-speed jeep pursuit. It is a must-do for thrill-seekers. Buy Disney Tickets here.

Interesting Fact: The ride uses complex vehicle programming and a sophisticated motion base to create 160,000 potential ride combinations, ensuring that no two journeys through the temple are exactly the same.

This attraction is available via the Individual Lightning Lane (a paid option separate from Genie+) for a shorter wait time. Learn more about Lightning Lane and Genie+ services here.

User Comment (Source: Theme Park Insider): "The Indiana Jones Adventure is relentless, in the best way possible. It truly feels like you are getting thrown around inside a decaying temple. Definitely use a Single Rider line if it's available and you don't mind splitting up your party."

The Adventureland Treehouse

Disneyland - Tarzan TreehouseImportant Update: The attraction formerly known as Tarzan's Treehouse has been closed for a lengthy refurbishment. It is being reimagined as The Adventureland Treehouse, inspired by Walt Disney's Swiss Family Robinson.

When it reopens, guests will again be able to climb the massive structure and explore various themed rooms that tell the story of a family whose inventive home sits high above the jungle canopy. It is a fantastic spot to let the kids expend energy and enjoy a unique view of Adventureland. Check the Disneyland app for the most current reopening date.

Jungle Cruise

Disneyland - Tiki RoomThe Jungle Cruise attraction simulates a riverboat expedition down major world rivers, including the Amazon, Congo, and Mekong. Guests board classic steamer ships and sail past exotic animatronic jungle animals while the boat captain provides famously humorous and pun-filled commentary about the wildlife.

The comedy is the main draw, making this a relaxing and laugh-filled experience perfect for all ages.

Fun Fact: The Jungle Cruise was originally intended to be a serious, realistic safari ride. However, Walt Disney realized the limitations of animatronics in 1955, and the skippers were encouraged to add humor. Today, the humorous script and ad-libbing captains are the reason for its lasting popularity.

Enchanted Tiki Room

The Enchanted Tiki Room (6849368520) Step into a classic piece of Disney history with Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. Experience a whimsical Polynesian musical featuring a cast of singing flowers, tiki gods, and over 200 Audio-Animatronic birds, including the charismatic hosts José, Michael, Pierre, and Fritz. The performance is a delightful, air-conditioned respite from the jungle heat and includes drum beats and Hawaiian melodies.

Snacks and Treats

Adventureland is the legendary home of the Dole Whip, a dairy-free, pineapple-flavored soft-serve ice cream. The central spot to find it is at The Tropical Hideaway, located just behind the Enchanted Tiki Room. The spot offers the famous Dole Whip, several new flavors, and other unique snacks, plus a large outdoor seating area perfect for a break.

Tip: You can save time by ordering the Dole Whip and other Tropical Hideaway snacks using the Disneyland app's mobile order feature, allowing you to bypass the standard queue.

Tips for Visiting Adventureland

  • Best Times to Ride: To avoid the longest queues for Indiana Jones Adventure and Jungle Cruise, try riding early in the morning (within the first hour of opening) or during the major parade or fireworks shows when most guests are occupied elsewhere.
  • Height Requirement: The Indiana Jones Adventure has a strict height requirement of 46 inches (117 cm) for safety. All other Adventureland attractions, including Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room, do not have height restrictions.
  • Accessibility: The Indiana Jones Adventure is accessible, though guests needing wheelchair access must transfer to the ride seat. Closed captioning is available during the queue pre-show.
  • Rider Switch and Single Rider: Disneyland offers a Rider Switch option for guests with small children who do not wish to ride. Additionally, for the Indiana Jones Adventure, consider using the Single Rider line if you do not mind splitting up your party, as this often reduces wait times significantly more than the standby queue.
  • Using Lightning Lane: Consider purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane pass for Indiana Jones Adventure during peak times or holiday periods. This is the only way to significantly reduce waiting times for this highly popular attraction.
