Tomorrowland: Your Guide to Disneyland's Future-Forward Thrills and Classic Adventures.
Tomorrowland is Disneyland's vibrant, futuristic-themed area, consistently offering a mix of classic attractions and new discoveries. While some major Star Wars experiences have moved to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, this land still packs a punch with high-energy thrills and nostalgic journeys, including the iconic Space Mountain.
The Disneyland Resort is practically in my backyard! My family and I love to spend a full day or just a few hours at the Disney parks. We've learned much about the key attractions, and we're excited to share our tips and tricks with you.

Space Mountain
This is one of Tomorrowland’s most popular rides, perfectly blending the thrill of a roller coaster with signature Disney magic. The immersive queue itself is a treat: you enter a spaceport with a huge starship at its center, then board your rocket ship and blast off into outer space.
Your spaceship rockets through the darkness with sharp turns and steep drops, narrowly avoiding cosmic hazards. The ride is intentionally dark, allowing you to fully appreciate the cosmic background of stars, planets, and nebulae.
For a limited time during special events, the ride is transformed into "Hyperspace Mountain"—a thrilling Star Wars overlay that simulates a dogfight between Rebel X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters. Be sure to check the park calendar to catch this temporary, must-ride experience!
Tip for Guests with Challenges: For visitors with physical challenges, Disneyland provides powered wheelchairs when needed and utilizes a special appointment system (Disability Access Service - DAS) so they won’t need to wait in the regular queue. The appointment system works for the eligible guest and everyone in their party.
Lightning Lane and Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Available
User Review: "Space Mountain is a total blast, even without the Hyperspace overlay. It's truly a classic, and you must ride it at night! The music and feeling of flying in the dark are unmatched." - A. Davis, Theme Park Enthusiast
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
This is the new and improved version of Disneyland's original Submarine Voyage. It remains very popular, and the lines can be quite long, especially with younger kids, but the unique experience is worth the wait.
It's an adventure based on the famous animated movie Finding Nemo. Once you dive into the depths of the Tomorrowland Lagoon, you’ll help Marlin and Dory search for Nemo, encountering stunning underwater scenes, hydrothermal vents, and the mysterious ruins of an ancient civilization.
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Another ride based on the popular Toy Story movie franchise. On this interactive dark ride, kids and adults can become Junior Space Rangers, ride the XP-40 space cruiser, and use laser cannons to help Buzz Lightyear defeat the evil Emperor Zurg.
During the ride, you have full control over your cruiser's spin to locate and shoot targets. Hit high-scoring targets to rack up points and achieve the rank of a "Galactic Hero." It's a fun, competitive ride for the whole family. Lightning Lane and Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Available
Tip for High Scores: To score the maximum points, keep firing at all times, prioritize the highest-value targets (usually the circular or recessed "Z" targets and those found on Emperor Zurg's robot), and don't stop shooting even if your cruiser pauses!
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
This thrilling flight simulator ride, inspired by the Star Wars movies, takes guests on an unpredictable space journey. The ride has been significantly updated from its original form to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, offering over 250 different story combinations and randomized sequences, making each trip unique.
Instead of a single, planned trip, guests find themselves caught in the middle of a high-stakes adventure featuring characters and locations from across the entire Star Wars saga. The ride utilizes stunning 3D visuals and motion-simulated action, immersing guests in epic space battles and chases.
Recent updates have added content from Disney+ shows. Riders may now encounter fan-favorite characters like Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, the Mandalorian, and Grogu. Possible destinations include classic planets like Tatooine and Hoth, as well as new locales such as Seatos from the Ahsoka series. This ever-changing experience makes Star Tours a constantly evolving must-ride for Star Wars fans and thrill-seekers. Lightning Lane and Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Available
Autopia
You can’t have an amusement park without a car ride, and this classic attraction has been around since Disneyland opened in 1955. It captures the American fascination with the open road and the future of transportation.
The adventure begins as you wind through the queue, which often features show elements like talking cars discussing the world from their point of view. Then, you'll get into one of the Honda-powered cars and drive through a maze of winding roads and scenic backdrops.
Although you control the gas pedal and the steering wheel, the cars are on a track. This keeps them safely on the designated road, preventing guests from going too fast or veering off course.
Future Fact: In line with Tomorrowland's futuristic vision, Disneyland has plans to transition the Autopia ride from its current gas-powered Honda engines to a new fleet of all-electric vehicles by 2026. This will offer a cleaner, quieter experience for guests!
